Qasr Al Watan, the Presidential Palace of Abu Dhabi, is one of the most breathtaking buildings in the entire UAE and one of those places that genuinely leaves you speechless the moment you walk in. Completed in 2017 and opened to the public in 2019, it is a living symbol of the UAE’s heritage, leadership, and architectural ambition.
Inside you will find the magnificent Great Hall with its 37-metre dome and a chandelier made from 350,000 crystals, the Spirit of Collaboration hall where important state meetings take place, and the House of Knowledge housing over 50,000 books and rare relics. The beautifully landscaped gardens are equally impressive and a wonderful place to take your time and soak in the grandeur of the surroundings.
If you are visiting on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evening, the Palace in Motion light show transforms the palace exterior into a stunning visual spectacle using projection mapping, lights, and music to tell the story of the UAE. It is genuinely one of the most memorable things you can watch in the country.
Modest, respectful clothing is required for all visitors. Both men and women should ensure their knees and shoulders are covered before entering the palace. Beachwear and revealing clothing are not permitted.
The palace is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours from Dubai depending on traffic. You can travel by taxi, private car, or arranged transfer. UJEM Travel and Tourism can arrange a private transfer for you, just let us know when you book.
Personal photography is welcome throughout most areas of the palace. Flash photography and tripods may be restricted in certain zones. Please follow the guidance of staff during your visit.
