    Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About UAE Visas

Navigating visa rules can be confusing. To help you plan your journey with confidence, we’ve answered the most common questions our African clients ask.
    1. Can I work in the UAE with a Visit Visa?

No. Under UAE law, it is strictly illegal to work while on a standard Visit or Tourist Visa. To work legally, you must have a valid Employment Visa sponsored by a UAE-registered company.

Tip: If you are traveling to look for a job, our 60-day Dubai Visit Visa (1,200 DHS) is the perfect option to give you time to attend interviews and secure a legitimate offer.
    2. Can I reapply if my visa application is denied?

Yes. In most cases, you can reapply as soon as the reason for the initial rejection has been addressed.

    Common reasons for denial include:

    • Unclear passport copies
    • Minor typos

Our team at Ujem Travel reviews your documents before submission to minimize this risk.

If you were rejected due to a previous overstay, you must clear all fines before reapplying.

    3. Is the visa fee refundable if my application is rejected?

No. UAE Immigration authorities do not refund visa processing fees once an application has been submitted, regardless of whether it is approved or rejected.

This is why we emphasize the importance of ensuring all your documents are 100% accurate before we hit "submit."

    4. What is the difference between Sharjah and Dubai Visit Visas?

While both allow you to travel anywhere within the seven Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, etc.), they are issued by different immigration departments (GDRFA for Dubai and ICP for Sharjah).

    Sharjah Visit Visa (2,000 DHS):

    • Often processed through Sharjah-based airlines or sponsors
    • Ideal for those landing at Sharjah International Airport

    Dubai Visit Visa (1,200 DHS):

    • Valid for 60 days
    • The most popular choice for tourists and job seekers
    • Offers a longer stay at a competitive price
    5. What documents do I need to apply?

To ensure a smooth application process, we typically require:

    • A clear, color scan of your Passport (must be valid for at least 6 months)
    • A recent passport-size photograph with a white background

For certain nationalities, a National ID or proof of residence may be required.

Note for Nigerian Applicants: Current 2026 regulations require applicants to be 40 years or older and provide a refundable security deposit.
